Creative Prayer is a time of soaking in the words of the Bible and then creatively processing and responding.

The monk, Brother Lawrence, believed that seeking the presence of God shouldn’t be reserved only for church services or prayer times – it is to be found in all of life! Whether washing dishes, going for a walk, or performing other duties, we can focus on communicating with God. During Creative Prayer, we practice bringing prayer into our creative lives and creativity into our prayer lives.

Schedule

  • Artscape to Heartscape with Adrienne Reedy

A conversational gathering for artists of faith to share their journey—both the seen and unseen landscapes of their lives. Through dialogue, prayer, and artistic exploration, this space seeks to uncover how faith shapes and transforms creativity.

Each session features an intimate interview with an artist, reflecting on their inspirations, creative process, and how faith influences their work. The gathering invites reflection, interaction, and deeper connection, where art becomes a bridge between the external world and the internal soul.

Rooted in the belief that art is worship and revelation, Artscape to Heartscape is a space for encouragement, renewal, and spiritual connection.

  • Improvised Liturgy with Lisa Smith

On the second Sunday of the month, we improvise within a simple structure to invite the Holy Spirit’s creative movement. Join us as we blend creativity and worship.

Great improvisation is built on a solid foundation. In our spiritual lives, this “soul craft” of disciplines and practices creates a framework for free-flowing worship. Worship services, with their liturgies, offer such frameworks for our lives.

  • Open Eyes with Cornelia van Voorst

Explore scripture through the lens of visual art, engaging with the divine through contemplation.

Rooted in sacred seeing, Open Eyes invites participants to slow down, observe deeply, and reflect on how the divine speaks through imagery, color, and composition. Using intentional viewing, silence, and shared reflection, we uncover new insights and creative inspiration.

This practice nurtures openness—eyes that see beyond the surface and hands ready to create in connection with the divine.

  • Holy Listening with Dan ABH
Prayer is not just speaking, but also listening. Join us online on the 4th Sunday each month to practice Holy Listening—an invitation to listen for God’s voice in everyday life through scripture, silence, and sharing.

Prayer often feels like a monologue, but the Spirit speaks in stillness and daily rhythms. Holy Listening is a two-way conversation where we listen for God’s whispers, deepen our connection with the divine, and grow in faith together.

  • Pause with Convergence Community
A virtual gathering for contemplative worship, blending scripture meditation, live prayer, silence, and technology to create a sacred space for reflection and connection.

The Convergence community gathers online for a time of virtual contemplative worship, using technology as a tool for reflection. We share scripture meditation videos created by our in-house artists, alongside live prayer and communion. Drawing inspiration from the Taizé community, our service reflects the talents, gifts, and needs of our community.
