Welcome to Our Table

In Italian, Il tavolo means ‘the table’, as in, “a piece of furniture.”

But at home, once the table is prepared for a meal and you want to call your friends and family to eat, you would say:

a tavola!

On Saturday, May 14th Convergence is excited to call our friends and family to Nostra Tavola (our table)!  Let’s gather at the Lab for conversation, community, a meal, and interactive art workshop led by Anita Breitenberg Naylor. Your place is already set!

Nostra Tavola is free, but reservations are requested.

Please reserve your space at the table today.

About the Workshop

Interactive Artmaking Workshop: Identifying and interacting with our inner peacemaker through collage.

Peacemakers are indispensable in today’s world. This fragile planet needs as many peacemakers as it can get; at work, in the family, and just about anywhere you go; peacemakers are a vanishing breed.

The theme of “identifying and interacting with our inner peacemaker through collage” seems appropriate for the period of war, slaps, and political divisions that we are presently facing. For our first Maker’s Retreat, let’s ask how we can both individually and collectively be empowered as peacemakers.

“As I have said, the first thing is to be honest with yourself. You can never have an impact on society if you have not changed yourself… Great peacemakers are all people of integrity, of honesty, but humility.”

Nelson Mandela

A collage is a work of art made from numerous materials such as paper, newsprint, photographs, fabric, and other found objects. One can experiment with shapes, layout, and even texture. Materials will be provided but you are welcome to bring items you wish to work with as well. This workshop is designed for all levels of experience – and none!
